Amidst the exhilarating buzz from July 16th to 20th, the curtains drew to a resounding close on the 17th "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge 2023 national preliminary competition for the first region, culminating in triumph and accolades for our college's talented students. Their exemplary performances saw two teams securing the coveted first prize in this prestigious national preliminary competition.
The "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge, once known as the "Siemens Cup" Industrial Automation Challenge, stands as a national A-class competition, fostered under the strategic partnership inked by the Ministry of Education and Siemens. This remarkable platform serves as a crucible for the application and propagation of Industry 4.0 intelligent manufacturing technologies, spanning the realms of intelligent product development, factory automation, intelligent control, industrial network intelligence, and the comprehensive digitalization of life cycles. Its profound impact extends to crafting innovative engineering teaching practices within universities, rendering invaluable support to the national initiative of "Made in China 2025."
Nearly a hundred teams hailing from approximately 30 distinguished universities across Anhui, Henan, and Shanxi provinces showcased their ingenuity in the national preliminary competition held at Taiyuan University of Technology for the western region. In this exhilarating arena, our institution's 12 teams delved into the uncharted territories of the national preliminary competition under the free exploration category, reaping remarkable achievements. Amongst these, one team clinched a special prize while four others soared to seize the first prize in the national preliminary competition.
The pulse-quickening events of July 18th saw the participating teams engaging in the initial round of contests at Taiyuan University of Technology's Electric Machinery Hall, where the top 30 percent of victors were selected to advance to the next round. Astoundingly, both teams representing our esteemed institution showcased their mettle and secured a berth in the subsequent phase with stellar performances. On the 19th, the qualified team embarked on the ardently awaited second round, and amidst fierce competition, emerged triumphant.
It was on the evening of the 19th, after three days of intense deliberation and anticipation, that the crowning moment arrived. The teams "IWIN," guided by mentors Li Weihan and Bai Xianxu, with the contributions of participants Ye Kunpeng, Liu Xin, and Ma Yuxiao, alongside the resounding project "Retired Battery Echelon Utilization," steered under the stewardship of instructor Wu Ji, featuring the adept contributions of participants Wang Hao and Bai Runge, surged through the competition's crucible and emerged as the illustrious recipients of the first prize in the national preliminary competition for the western region.
